Aquapak Polymers Limited is delighted to have been selected as a ‘company to watch’ by a panel of judges at the Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging show, for its innovative polymers that are a real solution to the world’s plastic crisis.
As one of just six organisations to be given the honour, Aquapak will be exhibiting in the inaugural Accelerator Zone within the 10th edition of the show taking place in London on 11-12 September 2019.
On display will be products made from Aquapak’s polymer resin pellet which are hydrophilic, non-toxic and marine-safe. In other words, they don’t add to the world’s plastic crisis; they help to solve it as they disappear safely to leave no trace. They do this by being water-soluble (in warm or hot water) and so dissolve into just water, carbon dioxide and mineralised natural biomass.
Aquapak polymer can be used on its own to replace traditional, hydrophobic polymers – including single use plastics – or combined with other materials to create products and packaging solutions for many different industries. It can then be disposed in anaerobic digestion as well as the wash cycles in standard laundry, recycling washes and repulping processes. This means that when combined with other materials, Aquapak polymer means they too can also be recycled or disposed of more easily and safely.
Commenting about the awards on the event’s website, Paul MacDonald, Easyfairs Global Brand Director for packaging said “Whilst there is much innovation going on within the larger companies in this space, there are some really exciting start-ups who are unable to participate in the show but have genuinely ground-breaking solutions. We want to support those companies and give them a chance to meet with potential customers who will help them grow their business.
Aquapak will be on stand AC10 in the Accelerator Zone which is located in the Olympia Central Level One.
